My journey

When I was in my 20's, I was highly goal oriented. I was knocking 14ers (14,000 foot mountains) off my bucket list right and left. Yet, I realized something after one climb, I wasn't really happy while I was hiking. I didn't enjoy any of the hike, except for a couple minutes at the summit. I was what I now call a Striver.

Since then, I've gradually shifted my approach to what I refer to as Sauntering. This is where I focus on enjoying the journey and the process itself. More often than not, a Sauntering approach has led me to moderately challenging adventures with ample free time for riverside contemplation, refreshing swims in cool lakes, and lounging on outcrops and mountaintops.
